CRISS GIDAS

A multi-talented individual, Hero of Hyrule, and Pokemaster, Criss Gidas is a passionate Greek-Australian writer/director and novelist committed to telling stories through narrative fiction blending action, heart, and a sprinkle of magic in everything she creates.

Criss was selected to be a part of the AFTRS/Screen Queensland Talent Camp, is a Stowe Story Labs Alumni, and completed a note taking workshop run by Libby Butler (“Surviving Summer” on Netflix) and facilitated by Screen Queensland.

Criss will graduate from the Writing A Speculative Fiction Novel course with the Faber Writing Academy in 2026. She was also highly commended for the Varuna Writer's Space Online Fellowship 2025.

The television pilot “Dark Veil” is the TV Pilot Winner of the the ScreenCraft Action & Adventure Screenplay Competition, and Finalist in the Outstanding Screenplays TV Pilot Competition.

The narrative feature script “Tag, You’re It” was selected by Maeva Gatineau (Hopscotch Features) as apart of Screen Queensland’s Creative Consultations.

”Articles Of War” is a quarterfinalist in the 2025 CineStory Feature Contest & Retreat.

Criss’ debut feature self-funded film “Canvas” premiered at the Gold Coast Film Festival 2022. She was selected as a top three finalist for the Gold Coast Screen Professional of the Year award at the 2022 Industry Awards.
